Privacy is important to everyone. Your privacy is important to CGS. This statement states the Privacy practices for CGS Learning Services Web sites, including what type of information is gathered and tracked, how the information is used, and with whom the information is shared. You can visit any CGS Learning Services Sites on the Web without telling us who you are and without revealing any information about yourself. There will be times, however, when we will need information from you in order to complete an enrollment process for any of the elements of our learning solutions.

You may choose to give us personal information, such as your name and address or e-mail that may be needed. The information we collect is used to correspond with you, to provide you with information that you requested, or that we believe may be of interest to you as part of your learning experience.

Data derived from your learning experience such as site activity, tests, comments, correspondence, submissions, performance indicators and evaluations may be used internally by CGS Learning Services to increase the efficiency of your learning experience as well as anonymously for statistical and analytical purposes. This data will not be provided or otherwise shared with other organizations or unauthorized personnel unless those personnel or organizations have been identified as a stakeholder, financial sponsor or otherwise have responsibilities for your learning experience.

CGS may receive and store certain types of information whenever a user connects to the site. As with many state-of-the-art Internet sites, the site may use "cookies" to enhance the functionality of the site and to make access more convenient and efficient for users. A "cookie" is a small text file sent by a web site to your browser and stored locally on the computer used to access the user's account, and contains information relating to a user's current session.

You can set your browser to notify you before you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether to accept it. You can also set your browser to turn off cookies. If you do so, however, some areas of some sites may not function properly.

CGS takes reasonable precautions to protect information collected from a certain User's use of the Site, however, due to the open nature of the Internet, CGS cannot guarantee that any information it receives will be free from unauthorized access during the transmission of such information to or from CGS.

CGS reserves the right to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in identifying those who may be using CGS servers or services for illegal activities, and to report any suspected illegal activity to law enforcement agencies for investigation or prosecution, including sharing information for fraud protection. Additionally, upon the sale or merger of CGS, use of your personal information may be governed by the privacy policies of the new owner, which policies may conflict with those contained herein.

Except if required by law or order of a court with authority to do so, we do not sell or transfer the information you send to us to others outside our company.

This privacy statement was last updated on Sept. 01, 2002. A notice will be posted on our Learning Services sites whenever this privacy statement is changed.
